Chinese Auto Giant Debuts Groundbreaking Electric Pickup in Thailand

On October 29, Radar Auto, a subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, announced that the four-wheel drive pure electric pickup truck Radar Horizon was officially launched in Thailand. The launch of the Radar electric pickup truck in Thailand is not only the first pure electric pickup truck from China to enter Thailand, but also the first pure electric pickup truck in the Thai market.

Prasert Jantararuangtong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society of Thailand, said at the press conference that the launch of the first pure electric pickup truck by Chinese automakers in Thailand has enriched the category of electric vehicles in Thailand and will further promote Thailand to become an electric vehicle and parts production base in the ASEAN region.

Thailand is an important automobile producer in Southeast Asia. In recent years, the Thai government has vigorously promoted automobile electrification and plans to increase the country's electric vehicle production to 30% of the total automobile production by 2030. Pickup trucks have a high market share in Thailand and are one of the most popular models in the Thai market. According to data released by the Federation of Thai Industries, in the first nine months of this year, Thailand's domestic automobile sales totaled 438,600 units, of which pickup truck sales were 126,500 units, accounting for nearly 30% of the country's domestic automobile sales.

Since embarking on its global journey in July 2023, Geely Radar has successfully developed multiple overseas markets including Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Central and South America.
