Heavy-duty truck sales in December 2024 in China: Sinotruk sold 19,000 units, Dongfeng surpassed FAW Jiefang, and Shacman ranked 4th!

1. In December 2024, the heavy truck market entered its final stage, with a total sales of about 81,000 vehicles in China's heavy truck market.
From January to December 2024, approximately 899,000 vehicles of various types were sold in my country's heavy truck market.
The heavy truck market will grow significantly in December 2024, mainly due to the stimulation of "old-for-new" trucks and the growth of exports. Heavy truck export wholesale sales in December 2024 were basically the same as the previous month, with a year-on-year increase of nearly 20%.

2. In December, four companies had sales of over 10,000 units.
1) As the leader in the heavy-duty truck market, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group maintained its first place in the industry with 19,000 vehicles;
Its cumulative sales from January to December were about 244,900 vehicles, making it the top heavy-duty truck sales in 2024, and its market share for the whole year rose to 27.2%, which was also up to expectations.

2) Dongfeng heavy truck sales rebounded in December, rising to the top two in the industry with 18,000 units, a significant year-on-year increase of 176%;
However, based on the full-year sales data of 145,300 units, Dongfeng heavy truck sales will still rank fourth in the industry as in 2023, with a market share of approximately 16.2%;

3) China FAW Group, from Changchun, Jilin, is known as the cradle of China's automobile industry. China FAW started with Jiefang Trucks, and now FAW Jiefang's heavy-duty trucks are still the second largest brand in the industry;
In December 2024, FAW Jiefang sold approximately 16,000 vehicles, ranking third in the industry that month. From January to December 2024, the cumulative sales volume of Jiefang heavy-duty trucks was about 179,700 units, with a market share of about 20%.

4) Shaanxi Auto(Shacman), one of China's four major heavy truck brands, achieved heavy truck sales of approximately 12,000 in December 2024, making it the fourth manufacturer to sell more than 10,000 vehicles in a single month. Shaanxi Automobile Heavy Duty Truck is a subsidiary of Weichai Holding;
From January to December 2024, it sold about 148,900 heavy-duty trucks of various types, ranking third in the industry with a market share of 16.6%.

5) BAIC Group is China's largest commercial vehicle company, with a complete system of heavy trucks, light trucks, pickups, buses and other models.
Among them, Foton Heavy Truck, a subsidiary of BAIC, is the fifth largest heavy truck brand in China. It achieved sales of approximately 7,000 units in December 2024, making it a second-tier enterprise after the four major heavy truck giants;
From January to December 2024, a total of approximately 71,600 heavy trucks of various types were sold, with a market share of approximately 8%.
